Course content
|
Examination methods in cardiology. Fundamental symptomatology in cardiology. Heart failure. Ectopic arrhythmias. Arrhythmias due to conduction disorders. Syncope. Acute coronary syndromes. Chronic ischemic heart disease. Arterial hypertension.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to acquire basic knowledge in the field of cardiology and pneumology.
The student acquires basic knowledge of principles of care in the cardiology and pneumology subspecialties and acquires an ability to evaluate an EKG and to recognize serious arrhythmias. He/she understands the roles and significance of nursing care in the care of patients with these diseases. He/she is able to practically apply gained knowledge. He/she is able to identify and assess individual needs, to plan, to implement, and to evaluate nursing care in the area of cardiology and pneumology.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Student performance assessment, Didactic test
Completion of compulsory 80% attendance at the practicum sessions. Successful completion of a written test or oral exam.
