Course content
Types of Orthography A word and its lexical and grammatical meaning Word types, classification criteria, function in communication Grammatical categories of names and verbs Inflection and conjugation, classification of verbs Statement, statement function and information structure of clause Sentence Sentence elements, types of subordinate clauses Comma in a simple sentence, comma in a compound sentence Style as a feature of the message and the text

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to develop and deepen students' knowledge and skills in the written form of the Czech language with the intention of improving and cultivating their written expressions in terms of spelling, lexical and word-formation, in comparison with the spoken form of the language.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written examination

A condition for completing the course is active participation in seminars, continuous performance of the assigned study tasks, including the preparation of a report on the assigned topic (within the appropriate time schedule) and fulfillment of the conditions of the final written test. In case of failure to meet the requirements of the paper, the student will not be admitted to the final written examination.
