This lecture presents an outline of Slovenian literature. The lecture also emphasizes a comparative aspect, a relationship to Czech literature and personalities who were important for mutual relations (F. L. Čelakovský, F. Prešeren, O. Berkopec, F. Benhart). A special attention will be paid to periods which were mythologising Sloveniandom and Slovenian literature, to reformation, to national revival and to 20th century literature.
Students will get an outline of basic characteristic features of literary development in Slovenia, of the most important meeting points with the Czech literature and of personalities who created mutual literary relations.
