Course content
Midwifery care of a mother in stillbirth. Midwifery care of a woman with prolonged labour. Midwifery care of a woman with epidural analgesia. Midwifery care of a mother with an irregular course of the third stage of labour. Model situations - Midwifery care of a woman with haemorrhage. Model situations - other acute conditions in midwifery.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to acquaint students with irregularities and complications during childbirth. This is an extraordinarily important issue that requires, in practice, a well-coordinated midwife-physician team addressing serious obstetric complications.
Students provide care in midwifery to women with irregularities and complications during labour and puerperium.

Assessment methods and criteria
Home assignment evaluation

Completion of compulsory 80% attendance at the exercises. Successful completion of a written test or an oral examination according to the course guarantor's decisionsessions.
