Course content
Current public communication in a postmodern context. Antique beginnings of rhetorical art and their importance today. The essentials of working with the body, breathing, and realization of emotions. Monologue forms of rhetorical communication and presentation. Theory and practice of dialogue in rhetoric; control and couching. Experience and speech in a role; empathy and assertiveness.

Learning outcomes
The aim of this course is to introduce students to the essentials of rhetoric (with regard to the historical context, especially the antique one). This course will improve speaking skills (language, stylistics) through practical monologue and dialogue exercises (including the skill of assertive presentation, communication, and argumentation) and raise the level of self-reflection and personal self-control.
This course provides insights into selected rhetoric genres, develops skills of working with topics (adopting various opinion positions by speaking in roles). A higher ability of improvisation in open discussion is expected (communication in groups, active listening, panel discussion).

Oral performance analysis, Work-related product analysis, Discussion, Systematic monitoring

Regular attendance (in accordance with agreed upon rules) and active participation in seminars are basic conditions for credit, plus every participant will present a final speech in an assigned structure and length (appreciation; approximately 10 minutes).
