Course content
The European idea in the history of Europe. The first integration attempts in Europe in the first half of the 20th century. Pan-Europe and Briand's suggestion of a European federal union. Integration of Europe after the Second World War (Haag Congress, 1948). The European Coal and Steel Community and Euratom. Maastricht Agreement about European Union. Spreading Europe at the end of the 20th century.

Learning outcomes
The aim of this course is to provide basic information about the development of European thought and European integration in the 20th century. Based on the acquired knowledge, students will be better oriented in the key contemporary issue of the formation of an integrated Europe.
Based on the knowledge acquired throughout the course, students will gain a better orientation in the crucial contemporary question of European integration and the creation of European unity.
