Course content
|
Key concepts and working with the table processor. Basic information on formulas, functions, working with names. Working with graphs. Handling text and data. Summary calculations, working with the contingency chart. Information mining, databases and lists. Introduction to working with conditional functions. Using Excel in decision support.

Learning outcomes
|
The course focuses on consolidation of knowledge from previous types of study in working with MS Excel application and with its collaboration with other applications. Attention will be paid to basic data processing principles using standard functions.
Students will be introduced to main examples of all function types and will be able to decide on the suitable use of these functions in specific situations. They will be capable of working with large-scale documents, to edit data as they wish, to prepare graphs for visual presentation and to analyse data.

Assignment: successful elaboration of given tasks (provided in Moodle). Examination: written - elaboration of practical tasks on PC. Detailed information will be provided during the first lecture and in Moodle.
