Course content
|
The introduction in the dilemma of connection of economy, society and environment. The strategy of sustainability. Agenda 21, Local Agenda 21, sustainability in the territory. The sustainability monitoring concept, the scheme driving power, pollution, situation, impact, response. Sustainability indicators. The driving powers of environmental changes. Population, the theorems of consumption, globalization, market, capital investments, economical development, technical development. The development and impacts of primary sector and traffic to the environment and possible solutions. Agriculture, water service, fishery, forestry, biodiversity. The development and impacts of energetics and transport for the environment, possible solutions. Climate changes, air quality and other impacts. Impacts of households and chosen branches for the environment, possible solutions. The consumption of households, waste generation, industrial impacts and possible solutions. Health and environment, environmental democracy, efficiency of sources usage. Environmental protection system performance abroad and in CR. Public relations in environmental protection. Planning of electivity program, risk expression, public dialogue, evaluation of advancements. Environmental information systems. Environmental law in CR a EU.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim is to provide basic knowledge in the field of sustainability, with an emphasis on the linkages of the economy, society and environment. Presented are the laws necessary for understanding the broader context of economic activities of man, his linkage to the environment and society.
Student will be able make a structure of most basic environmental problems, which he could find in the public administration sector as well as private sector. He will be able to orientate oneself in environmental and economic interdependences by using of recoverable energy sources.
