Course content
1. Work safety in biochemical laboratory, preparation of buffers, pH measurement 2. Pipetting, pipetting test, accuracy and precision 3. Determination of protein concentration - Biuret's method, determination of the effectiveness of deproteinizing agents 4. Determination of protein concentration - Bradford method, BCA method 5. Determination of carbohydrates - resolution by color reactions 6. Quantitative determination of glucose - enzymatic method 7. Enzymes - determination of trypsin proteolytic enzyme activity, calculation of kinetic parameters of enzyme reaction 8. Lipids - determination of cholesterol in oils 9. Determination of vitamins 10. Enzymes - determination of urea by urease 11. Determination of the relative molecular weight of proteins by SDS-PAGE, part I 12. Determination of the relative molecular weight of proteins by SDS-PAGE, part II 13. Written exam

The main aim of laboratory practises is to try basic biochemistry methods. Methods are focused on analysis of foods.
Student will be able to work in biochemical laboratories.

Knowledge of basic analytical methods.
