Course content
Using music in the classroom Teaching pronunciation and spelling through music Teaching vocabulary through music Teaching grammar through music Teaching receptive language skills through music Teaching productive language skills through music

Learning activities and teaching methods
Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Work with text (with textbook, with book), Methods of individual activities, Graphic and art activities, Stimulating activities (simulation, games, drama)

Learning outcomes
The HCVZ course is aimed at using music in language teaching, especially teaching English. Students will try a variety of exercises and activities connected with music in ELT focusing on language components and skills development. There is also an emphasis on singing in English.
Development of students' professional competence in lesson planning and delivery, classroom management, and reflection.

Assessment methods and criteria
Home assignment evaluation, Presentation

1) Compulsory active participation in seminars (2 missed classes) 2) Group singing 3) Planning and implementation of a coherent part of a lesson focused on developing a selected language feature through music (including a lesson plan, material didactic resources, and reflective tools). Implementation in a 20-minute lesson + active participation in the follow-up discussion. 4) Planning and implementation of a coherent part of a lesson focused on developing a selected speech skill through music (including a lesson plan, material didactic resources, and reflective tools). Implementation in a 20-minute lesson + active participation in the follow-up discussion. Requirements for Erasmus students: 1) Planning and implementation of a coherent part of the lesson focused on a selected aspect of their native language (including material resources). Implementation in a 20-minute lesson. 2) Group singing.
