Key learning outcomes This PhD study programme enables realisation of scientific research projects of comparable European standard within the educational process. The main objective is scientific training and specialised preparation of independent and creative specialists in the field of science and research who will be able to present and defend the outcomes of their research within local as well as international scientific community. Graduates demonstrate practical application of previously acquired knowledge within the scope of chosen specialisation. They are able to state objectives and choose methods of their own research work and are able to formulate their own original scientific and research projects, which may be successful in the grant competitions. Graduates are able to communicate actively in at least two languages within their field, they publish articles in specialised magazines and they are able to present the outcomes of their research by means of original lectures. Graduates may find positions as highly qualified specialists in scientific and research institutions (universities, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, museums, historical monuments' preservation institutions, archives, etc.) or in such spheres where their education and gained experience will create required qualifications (state administration, politics, diplomacy, cultural and educational institutions, etc.).
