Learning outcomes
|
The aim of this course is to develop the student's knowledge and practical skills in research work in the field of historical regional science and to continue the preceding course REG1. The main stress is placed on the introduction of the source base of regional history (text and visual documents, material records, and others) and the possibility of researching and interpreting them. The seminar is focused on the presentation of open topics of the students' yearly papers.
The yearly paper, as a result of idividual research, extends students' knowledge of sources in the field of regional historical research.

Assessment methods and criteria

Oral examination, Home assignment evaluation, Discussion
Credit is dependent on active participation in lessons; independent presentation of partial outcomes achieved during the work on the yearly paper (the student chooses the topic of the paper after consultation with the lecturer at the end of the preceding course REG1); submitting the yearly paper (at least 10 pages of standardized typescript); and an examination. Submitting this paper the week before the date of the oral examination at the latest (in the case that there are no other assignments) is the precondition for admission to the examination. Evaluation of the independent work is part of the final classification.
