Course content
Money and financial markets. Banking system. Czech National Bank and commercial banks. Banking business and services. Active and passive banking. Capital markets and investment instruments. Commodity markets. Activity of commodity exchanges. Exchange markets and its instruments.

Learning activities and teaching methods

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint the students with overall knowledge of financial markets and its structure. The course focuses on financial markets with more detailed orientation in banking. Students are briefly introduced to capital markets and stocks and bonds. The accent is put on commodity and exchange markets. Students will understand the structure of financial markets, especially commodity and exchange markets.
A student will be able to use the banking system, passive and active banking operations and banking products. The student handles issues of the stock market and types of investment instruments. The student will be geared to the commodity markets and options trading in various commodities. The students will understand the course and conditions of trading on foreign exchange markets.

The graded assignment is granted upon completion of the following conditions: completion of all seminar tasks, eventually passing the final test.
