Course content
Slovenes during the 1st world war and their position after the fall of Austria - Hungary. Royal Yugoslavia in the interwar period and position of Slovenes. The 2nd world war, its course in the territory of Slovenia, guerilla. Ideological fractionalism of Slovenes during the war. Situation after liberation of Slovenia and tehe end of the war. Tito´s Yugoslavia between world big powers. Economic development of Tito´s Yugoslavia from the internal and external points of view. The issue of the political lack of freedom in Tito´s times. The death of Tito and its unfluence on political situation in 1980´s. Deterioration of the relations among the nations of Yugoslavia in the end of 1980´s. Birth of independence of Slovenes at the beginning of 1990´s. Main names of the political and economic transformation of Slovenes in the 1990´s. Slovenes and approximation and entry to the European structures.

Learning outcomes
The goal of the lectures is to inform students about Slovene history of the 20th century.
Students gain basic knowledge about modern Slovene history of the 20th century.
