Learning outcomes
The aim of this course is to provide students with the basic methodological and terminological apparatus necessary for understanding the cultural context of current ecological thinking, and literature (eco-criticism) in this form represents a model example. Information about current ecological and literary-theoretical problems (eco-sophia, hermeneutics, cognitive science in literature) will be part of the topics covered.
The students should deepen their knowledge of the critical interpretation of literary texts as parts of a historically conditioned cultural context and should develop the basis of their own ecological, bio-centrically oriented thinking (including criticism of fundamentalist positions in ecology).
