Course content
The topics will be original texts from the Hebrew Bible: Narrative - Genesis, Exodus. Legalistic - Leviticus. Poetic - Song of Songs. Liturgical - Psalms. Rabbinic - Babylonian Talmud - tract Avot.

Learning outcomes
The objective of this course is to introduce students to the basic texts of Judaism. The seminar will also be focused on hermeneutics, the processes of canonization and edition of texts.
Students will read and analyze original texts. The course is linked to the course of Hebrew and enhances the gained knowledge. Students should acquire increased proficiency in working with Hebrew Biblical texts.

Hebrew Language.

Assessment methods and criteria
Creative work analysis, Discussion

Credit is dependent on the regular preparation of texts; attendance; reading the commentaries and secondary literature; and passing an oral exam. Students will be given one of the texts and will prove through it that they have gained some knowledge of Hebrew grammar, as well as in translating and interpreting texts from the Judaic tradition.
