Course content
The course will be aimed to the research on a chosen personage and his live in the 19th century - František Alois Vacek (1779-1854), the catholic priest, catechist, writer and the first historian of the St. Maria´s Garden region. The cours will be based on researching various types of historical source documents (contemporary books and journals, archive sources ...).

Learning outcomes
The aims of this course is to introduce the chosen topics from the regional historical research on the example of the region "Mariánská zahrada" (cluster of municipalities St. Mary´s Garden found on the territory located southwestward of Jicin town).
The students will be acquiented with historical source documents and the methods, which can be used in researching the regional history.
