| Key learning outcomes | The goal of the field of the study is to equip the midwife with knowledge and skills that are necessary for the role of the nurse specialist who provides specialized nursing care in departments of gynaecology and obstetrics that offer perioperative care. The graduate is able to provide basic specific and specialized perioperative nursing care to clients undergoing surgical treatment or examination in the perioperative environment. Furthermore, graduates are able to plan, implement, and evaluate the care provided, and they apply an interdisciplinary and comprehensive approach. He or she is able to communicate in a professional way and is ready to handle problematic situations in midwifery, work on a team, and participate in actions aiming to improve the quality of nursing care. Furthermore, graduates know the principles of research, and as members of a multidisciplinary team, they are able to collaborate in scientific research. They are able to use the results of valid research in their clinical practice. Successful completion of the study prepares the best graduates for enrolling in a doctorate study program. | ||||
